Activities to Enhance Motor Skills : 18-24 Months

1- Physical Activity

Make sure your child get at least an hour of physical activity most days.


2- Throw or Kick a Ball

Teach your child how to throw and kick a ball. Play with different size balls.


3- Teach Your Child Soccer

Play soccer! Kick balls around your yard or a local park or playground to enhance your toddler’s coordination.

5- Let Her Bang on Pots and Pans

Give your child access to wooden spoons, mixing bowls, and pots and pans. They are great for imitating Mom and Dad in the kitchen (or just for making lots of noise).

Find child-size tools (gardening tools, snow shovel, broom, etc.) so she can help you sweep, shovel, etc., while learning how to use tools that are appropriate for her size.
